To celebrate 5 years of BareRose, we are holding a photo contest for BareRose VIPs. The guidelines are quite simple: Using no more than 5 BareRose outfits, design your own unique outfit, wear it and then take a picture of you (or someone else) in it. We will leave the theme of your photo and how you choose to compose it, up to you. This is the time for you to be creative!

Your photo will be judged on the following criteria:

1. Originality (for the idea and composition of your picture)
2. Creativity (for the thought behind the outfits chosen)
3. Quality (for techniques used)

All entries will be showcased at the B@R Ballroom during the celebrations


Prizes are ...
1st $L3,000
2nd $L1,000
3rd 5 outfit voucher for B@R

All other entrants will receive the male or female outfit released on the day of judging.

We have a few simple rules:

1. The contest is ONLY OPEN TO  VIP MEMBERS. This means no staff, no vendors and of course no non-VIPs. Dont worry if you arent a member, come along to the store and  talk to a member of staff :)
2. Only 1 picture entry  per person.
3. While photo-editing software is encouraged, it is not necessary for the contest. This is to be fair to those who don't know how to use it or don't have any.
4. Your picture is so be uploaded to the special VIP Flickr group page and then entered onto the competition thread. http://www.flickr.com/groups/barerose/
5. For uploading purposes, the pixel size must be limited to 512x512.
6. All pictures to be taged B@R or Bare@Rose and to include a credit list of outfits worn.
7. It goes without saying, but please no nudity! At the least please have the obvious places covered.

Good luck!

Made in the middle of the night when she would awake from strange dreams  Her window faced East, and she would beg the light to come.  These are from a collection she calls "Prima Luce," which means "First Light" in Latin.

Winter Nightfire is a self-taught painter from San Francisco, California.  Her exposure to Abstract Expressionism began at age 16 in the North Beach neighborhood at Caffe Trieste, where she befriended her mentors, the noted Beat artists Jack Hirschman and George Long.  She displayed her first painting at a group show with her mentors in 2001 at age 24, and has been showing solo at venues across San Francisco ever since.

Nightfire created these portraits in an investigation of her feelings about womanhood.  "I did them in the mirror," she explains, "and because I was posing, then drawing, then posing again, what emerged were these really strong lines that seem to push the raw sexual elements of the female form.  I relized that without faces, these are every woman: powerful and vulnerable."

Mankind Tracer describes the concept and style of ‘Depth of Shadows’:

“Looking back at "The Depth of Shadows" as a concept, I find this album to be more personal than say "Beyond the Shade" and I expect long time fans will be able to hear a bit of a difference in the music... in me, personally. New listeners will hopefully take to it because lyrically on some of the tracks, I've tried to reach out to kind of say "Hey, you're not the only one going through that!" and let them know that they aren't alone in some life experiences that many of us have in common. Individual growth is a funny thing. So I think many will be able to relate on a more personal level.

Personally, musically and lyrically, I have let go of worrying about what listeners might think about me writing about my personal experiences, thoughts and values or even about the music itself and just wrote! They say a writer should write what they know so I've taken a more "this is me" approach without concern of criticism and wrote what I wanted to write, I wrote what I know... ME! So ultimately, there is definitely more personal emotion on "Depth of Shadows" in both the words and the music, even the production. Sure I still like to write lyrics without being completely literal, at least on most songs, but I think I've been a bit more transparent on this album. I felt I needed to do that.”

And on using new video streaming at his shows:

“I actually did a few video shows about 2 or 3 years ago. At the time, however, technological stability was still an issue. The video was choppy at best if it even STREAMED! Today, even avatar clarity is vastly improved since then. Those that know of me in SL know that I've been performing pretty much nonstop for over three and a half years. I love doing it but I feel now with the improvements Linden Labs has made to their infrastructure, video streaming is now possible but more than that, I feel it's the next logical step in the evolution of my SL career. Many people know my shows are very personal. I like to "talk" to the audience offering more than just a guy playing live. There is the interaction factor that I find the friends and fans compliment me most about. I'm hoping this will take that level of interaction to a new level.”

I will perform the solo-dance show ”BeAware” .
It's a story in dance about a woman; she is looking for love.
She finds and loses love and as she tries to survive in the harsh world.
This showcases includes costume and set changes with dynamic action using particles and scripts.
To reduce lag and for better viewing it will help if you wear outfits, shoes, jewelry without scripts.
Please turn off all your AOs, HUDs and so on.
One more thing... please, talk with your friend in private IM. The public chat will be in used by the show.

Second Move Magazine is looking for writer/artist to reboot the magazine.
Second Move Magazine is focused on Games within Second Life of all kinds and we are trying to go back to the unique
format combining influences from Infotainment Television and comic books

I am still working up what kind of pay would be involved. The thought of L$1000 per article with an option the writer
being allowed having 2 sponser ads they get themselves which they would keep 100% of the ad revenue.
I am still considering that end of things to be sure it makes sense for all sides.
